AACA will try to provide unpaid internship opportunities whenever possible, but this will depend on several things.
If you are doing an internship for course credit, we will need a letter from your school at least one month in advance (on your college letterhead, preferably from one of your professors) providing us with information about the length of the internship (start and end dates of the semester, etc.), and what, specifically, the goal of the internship would be (work with adult learners in a community-based organization, for example). We will provide an on-site supervisor.
If you are doing a volunteer internship, especially in the summer (June, July, August), there is a minimum requirement of 8 hours per week for 8 weeks.
