Practical technology and AI education for everyday life, work, and community.
AACA’s Digital Skills Center helps people build the confidence to use today’s essential digital tools and prepare for what comes next. Through free, hands-on learning opportunities, we make technology—including artificial intelligence—more understandable, useful, and safe.
AI for Everyday Life and Work
AI is changing how people learn, communicate, search for jobs, and complete workplace tasks. AACA helps community members move beyond the hype and use AI with confidence and good judgment.
Our AI learning opportunities explore how to:
-
Use AI tools for practical everyday and workplace tasks
-
Write effective prompts and evaluate AI-generated answers
-
Recognize inaccurate, biased, or misleading information
-
Protect personal and financial information
-
Identify AI-enabled scams
-
Use emerging technologies safely and responsibly
No prior AI experience is required.
Upcoming AI Workshops
AACA will host a new series of AI workshops in August and September 2026, presented by the City of Boston’s Department of Innovation and Technology.
These workshops will give community members opportunities to learn about AI, explore practical uses for emerging technology, ask questions, and better understand how AI is affecting everyday life and work.
Workshop dates, topics, and registration information will be announced soon.

Essential Digital Skills
We also help learners strengthen foundational and intermediate skills, including:
-
Email, internet navigation, and online forms
-
Smartphones, computers, and common applications
-
Online job searches and applications
-
Video meetings and workplace tools
-
Passwords, privacy, cybersecurity, and scam prevention
Workshops are designed for different experience levels and delivered in a supportive, culturally and linguistically responsive environment.
Community Education and Partnerships
AI and digital change affect more than individual skills. They also raise important questions about privacy, employment, safety, access, and fairness. AACA brings residents, public agencies, financial institutions, and subject-matter experts together for practical community conversations.
Our community work has included:
-
An AI forum presented with the City of Boston’s Department of Innovation and Technology, attended by more than 100 people in person and online
-
A digital scam-prevention forum featuring experts from AARP, the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation, the Boston Police Department, and M&T Bank
-
Recognition from the Boston City Council for AACA’s work to advance digital inclusion and help bridge the digital divide
